To paint is a private action.
In the last five years I have painted the images of the series of prints after having stamped the plate. To make the portrait to my etching has get me to print with the system ink-jet the soul of the color of the original photo on the black ink print. The painting enslaved to the graphic search as an intimate submission to my routine.
All these oil paintings from 5 years are turned against the wall in my laboratory. As a private action.
This August I have been invited to the 42nd Art Colony in the Monastery of Studenica, on the mountains of Kraljevo in Serbia. I have thought about painting some faces to unravel the self of the Monastery. Some monks have accepted my camera, a nun, the priest of Studenica and also the gardener.

The technique oil color and the elaboration A4 standard of the photo shoots image has remained my routine: to portray a place exploring human faces, with my side presence.

Here to paint has returned to be a public action.
The ancient architectural structures, the smell and the incenses, the liturgies, the words of the people that live their faith inside or those that come to pray. A portrait of a place in few faces. These images reproduce the ten days of work in seven painted pictures to Studenica in August 2017.

Dipingere è un atto privato.

Negli ultimi 5 anni ho dipinto le immagini delle serie di stampe dopo aver stampato la lastra. Questa operazione di ritratto della grafica ha portato a stampare con il sistema ink-jet l’anima del colore della foto originale sul foglio. La pittura asservita alla ricerca grafica, come un gesto intimo della mia prassi.

Tutti questi quadri a olio da 5 anni sono girati contro la parete in studio.

Questo agosto sono stato invitato alla 42nd Art Colony nel Monastero di Studenica, sulle montagne di Kraljevo in Serbia. Ho pensato di dipingere dei volti per svelare l’io del Monastero. Alcuni monaci hanno accettato la mia macchina fotografica, una monaca, il parroco di Studenica e anche il giardiniere.

La tecnica a olio e la elaborazione in formato A4 dell’immagine scattata sono rimaste la mia prassi: ritrattare un luogo esplorando volti umani, con la mia presenza a lato.

Qui dipingere è tornato un atto pubblico.

Le antiche strutture architettoniche, gli odori e gli incensi, le liturgie, le parole delle persone che vi abitano la loro fede o che vi giungono in preghiera. Un luogo ritratto in pochi volti. Dieci giorni di lavoro in queste immagini che riproducono i sette quadri dipinti a Studenica nell’agosto 2017.
